Kelvin brings over 35 years’ experience in the media industry to the DPP. Kelvin spent many years as a Head of Production in the BBC, most notably for the specialist areas Science, History, Natural History, Religion before becoming Head of Production for all Factual across the UK. He also spent over 7 years as Commercial Director for the world renowned Natural History Unit. Latterly he moved into more formal project management as a Programme Director, first on a SAP Finance and HR system implementation and then on a major transformation and efficiency programme. Within the DPP Kelvin is responsible for Finance, HR and Legal.
Andy has worked in broadcasting for over 16 years on red button interactive television services, broadcast innovation and digital rights. Andy was Head of the BBC College of Technology, overseeing all training and development for technology for the BBC. He recently led the industry skills and development of file delivery for television programmes with the DPP. Andy’s work also included the migration of Engineering Teams to support new technologies and studios in MediaCity UK, New Broadcasting House, UHD and 3D broadcasts and supporting the 2012 London Olympics. Andy joins the DPP from his current role as Partnership Lead for BBC Make it Digital, a year-long campaign to help develop the coding and digital skills of audiences across the UK. At the centre of the initiative is the BBC micro:bit. Andy led collaboration between 54 partners, all helping to deliver one of the BBC’s most ambitious education initiatives in 30 years.
Jayne has worked for the BBC since 2008 in a variety of roles across Marketing, Communications & Audiences, Future Media & Technology and Television. She joined the DPP team back in 2011 and used this opportunity to grow the DPP’s reach significantly by increasing the portfolio of events, implementing a social media strategy and improving the DPP website. In 2014 Jayne spent a few months at BBC Academy running large industry conferences and events for the College of Technology. She returned as Membership Manager in 2015 as DPP Ltd was launched in order to further build and promote the DPP brand. Jayne is also a professional singer in her spare time.
Abdul has over 13 years’ experience in the Broadcasting and IT Industry with a comprehensive background in Project Management and Operations at the BBC as well as in the commercial sector. Most recently, Abdul’s roles included leading technology at BBC Media Action, the BBCs international development charity, as the Head of Information Systems and Change, where he developed and delivered the global technology strategy and operations across Europe, Africa and Asia. Working closely with key stakeholders he has provided leadership in solutions delivery, support and online and cloud services. Previously he has worked as a Technology Manager for BBC World Service delivering connectivity solutions for its international bureaus.
Caroline has over 17 years experience in the broadcasting and media production industry with an extensive background in Operations and Technical Project Management. She has worked very closely with ITV’s Technology team improving efficiencies in a variety of areas from production to live studios. Her projects have included the planning and implementation of an end-to-end file delivery solution for ITV’s internal Post Production facilities. Most recently, Caroline worked as Head of Media Management & Connectivity at The London Studios leading the technical operations team in Post Production, Sound, Media Management and Content Delivery.
In more than 20 years in the media industry Ulrich has worked as Engineer and Technical Project Manager on projects in Music Production, Radio, TV and the Web. He has also designed, installed, tested (and occasionally taken to the skip!) technologies that came and went. During the majority of his 12 years as staff at the BBC he supported News and Sport and developed tapeless workflows as Technology Lead for Journalism in BBC Wales. As a lecturer and trainer Ulrich owned and delivered strands on large business change programmes for the BBC as well as teaching new recruits.
Claire has over 20 years experience in the Broadcasting Industry and grew up with a family who all worked in media too. She started in Press & Publicity at LWT where she was involved in PR events and press launches. She later moved into Acquisitions and became Manager, where she worked closely with the Controller of Acquisitions handling deals across all the ITV channels. More recently Claire has organised large music & dance festivals and vintage themed events. She is also a professional dancer, specialising in dances from the 1920s – ‘50s. She is delighted to now move back to Broadcasting and become DPP’s Membership Assistant.
