What we do

Metadata App 338x188

Metadata Application

The Metadata Application steering groups objective was to develop a free application to enable independent production companies to create file-based TV programmes which have the correct metadata for delivery to UK broadcasters.

The application has been designed, built and piloted with independent production companies, broadcasters and manufacturers and has been received well within the industry.

The application provides a user interface with a form to enable production companies to simply enter programme editorial metadata and combine this with the structural metadata extracted from the media file. It will then wrap this metadata set into the MXF file in line with DPP specifications as set out in the pan-industry technical & metadata standards for file-based programme delivery in the UK.

This application has been created as an interim measure until equipment and system suppliers are able to offer this functionality within their systems.

The Metadata Application is available to download following registration.  This is to ensure all users can be informed of any future updates to the software.

If you have any feedback or queries about the Metadata Application please contact:

To download the minimum metadata set used to create this application please visit the AMWA website.  Please note that this document should be read in conjunction with the DPP Technical Standards.
